Great service at a great price.

I was charged 54 for someone to plug a code reader into my car. Won't be using Headlands again.

Service with a smile, they were clear and up front without trying to confuse me with jargon, no hidden costs, and very reasonable prices. Being a woman I've had quite a few garages try to pull the wool over my eyes but these were kind and fair people. I've been there when it was busy, they had computer troubles and a rude customer but the bloke behind the desk kept calm, tried to explain the problem in different ways, and kept everyone up to date with what was happening. I was impressed. Will definitely use them again.

I have decided to use my personal circumstance with Headlands Garage Kettering to advise other people, so this situation does not repeat itself. The owner and mechanics have allowed inadequate parts and work to be carried out on a vehicle, which has cost us over 6000. Had the mechanic simply checked the part they fitted correctly (which had broken and been sent back to the garage) it would have saved a lot of time and hassle. If you are considering or currently having work done at headlands garage in Kettering I would very much advise against it. In the short story my partner sent his truck into the garage to have his timing chain replaced, it was replaced, four months later the car constantly stalls. We send the car back to the garage with the suspicion that the timing chain has stretched and therefore the car is not working, they check the timing chain, conclude there are no problems and then check the injectors. The injectors come back as partly working, the garage says if we get them changed the car should work, we get injectors changed, the car still doesnt work properly. The garage wants to complete further work to find out why its not working. At this point the garage has had the car for a month and a half and we are starting to get a bit concerned. We contact a specialist were we are informed that the timing chain has stretched the garage hasnt checked properly and are now wanting to carry out more work so they can go back inside the car and change the timing chain. The specialist is so adamant the timing chain has stretched he says bring the car to us we will replace the timing chain for free if it is not the timing chain. The specialist completed a thorough check and found the timing chain was aftermarket and therefore had stretched. He replaced the chain with a genuine part and the car works fine with no problems. The moral of the story is headlands garage fitted timing chain, that wasnt fit for purpose, it broke the car within four months of being replaced, when they had the chance to rectify their mistake, they did not carry out the proper checks and therefore charged as an additional 1300 to have injectors changed which didnt need to be changed. And I dont know about you but I dont have 6000 to spare and that is what is cost for two timing chains to be fitted, travelling to a specialist, injectors, and bills for the car sitting and not being used from March to end of June. The mechanics are fitting aftermarket parks because they are cheaper than genuine parts which are more likely to break, what is the point in sending your car there? You are effectively paying to have inadequate work completed on your car, to have your car break down in the future and the garage responsible basically con you, not check the work they completed and suggest another reason why the car wont work. I have spoken to the garage and their response is and I quote you have decided to send the vehicle elsewhere to be repaired, these costs are not our responsibility written by the Managing director Make up your own mind, but I still cant believe the situation Im in. I am going to contact all the necessary people because this process is wrong and people like me that cant afford it are being conned by a garage that is meant to be trustworthy.

What is going on Headlands? Last year I was told I needed new tyres which had only recently been replaced. I also never did get a free MOT despite booking in for service last time. Also I wanted to book for this year's MOT and you were closed by 1.15 despite your opening hours being advertised as 1.30! Will be going elsewhere.
